TRUE NORTH / A VISUAL JOURNEY THROUGH NORTHERN SCANDINAVIA

To complement their FW21 collection, Makia Clothing Company launched a special 20th-anniversary lookbook. This unique publication showcases stunning landscape photography captured in northern Sweden and Norway by Pierre Wikberg, alongside collection photos taken by Mikko Ryhänen. Pierre, a longstanding friend of Makia, has been behind many of the brand's iconic images over the years.

Titled 'True North,' the look book serves as a captivating documentary of Pierre's journey through the cold and dark landscapes of Northern Scandinavia. With its bare cardboard covers and open spine structure, the book reflects the rugged beauty of the Nordic winter and the sparse populations of the northern regions. The layout places emphasis on the striking images of the unforgiving environment and man-made structures, offering a compelling visual narrative.
